SkyFactory server tips

  • SkyFactory 4 runs on Java 8, SkyFactory 5 on Java 17. The panel sets the right version.
  • A void world has almost no terrain to generate, so the memory goes to farms and machines.
  • Let the server create the world on its first start after the install. A world from a normal Minecraft save has no starting tree.

How to install SkyFactory on your server

  1. Order a Forge server below. Any Minecraft version is fine; the installer sets 1.20.1.
  2. In the control panel, open the Mods tab and go to CurseForge and FTB packs.
  3. Search for SkyFactory, pick the version and click Install this pack.
  4. Start the server in the Console tab. The first start of SkyFactory takes a few minutes; wait for Done.
  5. Players install the same SkyFactory version in their launcher and join with the server address.

SkyFactory 4 is the classic on 1.12.2 and is complete. SkyFactory 5 is the newer edition on 1.20.1. They are separate packs with separate worlds.
